Broken Springs Replaced
Precision Door Service recognizes the importance of replacing broken springs on our customers garage doors with the best quality high cylce springs in the industry. The springs that our technicians use are manufactured to our own demanding specifications. A garage door spring that looses its tension too soon will cause the opener to lift a heavier weight then it was designed to lift. This will shorten the life of the automatic opener and require its replacement as well as the spring replacement much sooner than it should be.
For the sectional, roll up garage doors, we install garage door torsion springs that are powder coated. This process is a little more expensive, however these springs are rated to exceed 64,000 cycles. This is the highest rated torsion spring in the industry for residential garage doors. The powder coating process makes them resistant to rusting or to deterioration from the salt air that is a problem in costal communities.
The extension springs that we install for the solid, one piece garage doors are also made to our specifications. We recommend that these springs be replaced every 5 years even though they are not broken. Extension springs because of how they function to lift a one piece door, will not have the same cycle life as the torsion springs on the sectional, roll up garage door. By replacing them every 5 years you can be assured that your opener will not be lifting too heavy a weight. This will save you the expense of having to replace it sooner than necessary.
