Paint Grade Wood Doors
Paint grade garage doors are sometimes referred to as “Green Garage Doors”. These doors are usually framed using hemlock, hem fir or Douglas fir to give it strength and durability. The rest of the door will be made from recycled material. Most people purchase this garage door because they want a wood garage door but the plan on painting it to match the exterior of their home. In addition, because of using recycled material, the garage door is more modestly priced than a stain grade garage door.

Advantages
• This garage door can be made to accommodate any size opening you may have into your garage.
• The price of this door will be more modestly priced than a wood stain grade garage door of a similar design.
• You will have the ability to design your own one of a kind garage door to enhance the beauty of your home.
Disadvantages
• This garage door can come primed from the manufacturer, however it will be your responsibility to hire a competent painter to finish the door.
• All wood garage doors will require some level of maintenance. Regularity of maintenance can be increased by exposure to salt air or direct sunlight. Normally on a paint grade garage door, you should plan on refinishing it every 2 or 3 years.
• All wood products exposed to the elements can be victims of termites or water damage.
